About the role:
The TechOps Global Financial Planning & Analysis Team is the central point to manage performance of TechOps. The team has the lead in the planning and analysis processes for TechOps Finance across the different levels of the TechOps organization. They are responsible for all processes within the TechOps Finance calendar, including Budgeting, Forecasting and Analyzing Actuals. The team is a close sparring partner to the Division CFO & BPA Head covering operational as well as long term / strategy topics.

The FP&A Senior Manager is a very important team member to support all key processes Closing, Outlooks, Budget & Long-Term Planning. He / she will own the coordination of all system submissions with the Global KPI owners, Sites and Platforms as well as with Corporate. Furthermore, he / she will have the opportunity to support major projects like organizational updates and changes in reporting as well as ad-hoc analysis requests coming from senior management. He / she will interact with very broad variety of stakeholders across the organization from different levels giving him / her high exposure and opportunity to build a lasting network within Novartis.

About the Role

Key Requirements:

  • Support Performance Management- Closing: coordinate Operations closing financial presentations collaborating closely with FRA and lead performance analysis for overall TechOps FTE / Personnel Cost
  • LO / Budget: lead Budget and Outlooks for FTE / Personnel Cost and R&O consolidation
  • Automation: drive automation and simplification of the existing reporting structure
  • Coordination of all system submissions-Closing: coordinate the reconciliation between systems of end-to-end P&L Actuals and other KPIs, partnering with Digital, FRA and FP&A Global teams
  • LO / Budget: Overall responsible for all submissions managed by the FP&A team in collaboration with Platforms, Corporate BPA and Digital Team. That includes process management as well as ensuring KPI consistency with the related owners
  • Major Project support- Operations: lead internal and external boundary changes and support ad-hoc analysis received from senior management on a regular basis
  • Long Term: support strategic planning cycle for specific projects and relevant KPIs
  • Major projects: support the FP&A Head with Project Management related to organizational updates, M&A / BD&L deals or changes in reporting (building concepts, milestone plans and stakeholder management)
  • TechOps Financial KPIs: Core Profit Contribution (CPC), Production COGS%, Business Unit Sales, Inventory, CAPEX, Core Adjustments, Own FTE. Flawless submission across all frameworks ACT, Outlooks and Budget 

Essential Requirements:

  • TechOps Financial KPIs: Core Profit Contribution (CPC), Production COGS%, Business Unit Sales, Inventory, CAPEX, Core Adjustments, Own FTE. Flawless submission across all frameworks ACT, Outlooks and Budget 
  • Very strong analytics, detail orientation and ability to deep dive in processes and systems and the ability to communicate their complexity while remaining solution oriented.
  • Project Management skills to plan, organize and execute as per agreed milestones.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to present complex information to senior leaders.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a renowned business school
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, planning and consolidation ideally in a pharmaceutical industry with exposure to manufacturing division or Big Four audit.
  • Strong Digital skills & affinity for clean house reporting, ideally FRA background.
