The Capacity Planning Lead ensures long-term alignment between demand and capacity for the Large Molecules portfolio, enabling strategic decision-making across biologics, non-biologics, and aseptic products. Additionally, the role supports product cost planning governance to help meet cost targets through effective review of production cost roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end long-term demand and capacity planning (LTDCP) for the Large Molecules portfolio
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Portfolio Management, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Finance, and Operations
  • Facilitate and evolve LTDCP governance for biologics, non-biologics, and aseptic products
  • Maintain consolidated demand and capacity views aligned with strategic timelines
  • Develop and refine models and tools for accurate capacity assessments
  • Align capacity planning with manufacturing strategy and product cost planning (Total Production Cost Roadmaps)
  • Conduct scenario planning and provide strategic recommendations on supply points and network evolution
  • Ensure consistency between LTDCP, long-term financial plans, and unit cost targets
  • Support decision-making for capacity investments, tech transfers, and Business Development & Learning initiatives
  • Contribute to best practice sharing across Novartis Technical Operations and support governance bodies with cost and capacity insights

Essential Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in biotech/science (MSc/PhD) or business (MBA)
  • 10+ years of cross-functional experience in global TechOps or regulated environments
  • Fluent English; additional languages are a plus
  • Strong knowledge of biologics production and aseptic fill & finish processes
  • Proven expertise in change management, strategic planning, and project leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and functions with a results-driven mindset
